CHILDREN’S SLEEP CENTER

Better Sleep Starts With Understanding What’s Happening at Night.

Our pediatric sleep program helps families understand sleep-related breathing and other sleep concerns that can affect a child’s health, behavior, learning and daytime energy. Sleep evaluations are tailored to the child’s age, symptoms and referral.

Sleep studies are performed for children through age 18 and may include overnight polysomnography, CPAP/BiPAP titration, split-night studies, MSLT or MWT when clinically appropriate.

When a Sleep Study May Help

A study may be recommended for concerns such as loud snoring, witnessed pauses in breathing, unusual daytime sleepiness, insomnia, hypersomnia, hypoventilation, sleep apnea, or other sleep-related symptoms.

02

What a Polysomnogram Measures

During sleep, the study can record brain activity, heart rate, leg movements, breathing effort and blood oxygen levels. No blood samples are taken as part of a standard polysomnogram.

03

Family-Friendly Preparation

Families receive an information packet explaining what to expect. Bring comfortable sleepwear and any usual medications or comfort items your child normally needs, following the instructions provided by the sleep team.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A Simple, Guided Sleep Study Experience

1

Referral & Scheduling

A referring provider sends the sleep-study order. Our team works with the family on scheduling and authorization requirements.

2

Evening Check-In

Your child settles into the sleep room and the technologist explains the sensors and answers questions before the study begins.

3

Overnight Monitoring

The child sleeps while the study records the signals needed to evaluate sleep and breathing. Staff monitor the study throughout the night.

4

Results & Next Steps

The sleep specialist reviews the study and communicates recommendations and next steps to the family and referring provider.
